Expect to be challenged, and expect us to help you take your game to the next level!

Our specialty format allows players to train in their specialized court positions: Setter, Middle Blocker, Libero/Defensive Specialist, Outside Hitter, Opposite. During the first half of camp we focus on technical training needed for each specialized position. This approach is similar to trainings that occur at the college/university level. The second half of camp focuses on tactical training: 6 v 6 competition with coaching specialized for a wide variety of competitive experiences.   We recommend players have completed two competitive seasons at the high school or club level.

Director Moira Long
Director Moira Long G '97 has completed her seventh season as the head women’s volleyball coach and associate professor of physical education at Springfield College. Long’s record during the 2016 season was 29-6 (.829) with a 9 - 1 (.900) record in conference play. She has led the Pride to five-straight trips to the NCAA Championship Tournament with an appearance in the sweet sixteen in the 2016 season. In 2015, Long was named the AVCA Division III New England Regional Coach of the Year. That year the Pride was one of just six teams in the country with four AVCA All-Americans. They finished the season with a record of 31-4, and advanced to the regional championship for the third time in the last six seasons.

According to Coach Long “our camps provide an opportunity for players to learn and train in a setting that simulates what you will experience at the college level.” Joining Coach Long as Assistant Director is Chelsea Barnicle ‘10. Coach Barnicle is the West Springfield Girls and Boys Volleyball Head Coach. She has been at West Springfield since 2011 and was Western Mass Boys Volleyball Coach of the year in 2014.
